We learned way too much about Nikolaj Coster-Waldau by watching this video tour of his home. (Like his secret to creating “a lot of sexual energy in a room.”)
The Game of Thrones star, 49, recently starred in a clip for Architectural Digest, where he walked fans through every detail of his house in the Hollywood Hills.
In the clip, Coster-Waldau welcomes viewers to his humble abode, which he purchased without the consent of his wife, Nukaaka. According to the actor, the goal of the residence is to “be simple, comfortable and take advantage of all the windows and all the greenery.”
Apart from basic pieces, the home is very scarcely furnished. “Every two years we go, ‘OK, now we really have to get rid of stuff,’” he explains. “So, we do, and then things creep back in.”
Coster-Waldau even has a Brienne of Tarth doll that was given to him by a fan. Although he was supposed to pass it on to Gwendoline Christie, all we have to say is…finders keepers.
When he gets to the master bedroom, Coster-Waldau introduces his fern before revealing that it holds a special place in his heart. “You need a fern in your bedroom,” he says. “Ferns are known to create a lot of sexual energy in a room, and, uh, it’s true.”
