When it comes time to pick outfits for royal engagements abroad, the Windsors have a tried and true method. Typically, female members of the royal family wear designers from the country they’re visiting and rock colors featured on their vacay spot’s flag. We saw it when Kate Middleton recently visited Ireland for the first time and also way back when she and Prince William popped into Norway. Now, Meghan Markle’s testing out the formula while in the United Kingdom—wait, what?
Yes, the 38-year-old Duchess of Sussex is technically royalty in the U.K. (at least for another couple of weeks), but with her and Prince Harry’s royal exit pending, it makes sense that she’d want to pay tribute to the country she resided in with her husband for several years. And, since she and the 35-year-old Duke of Sussex, are currently wrapping up their final week of official royal engagements, now’s a perfect time.
It all started when Markle and Prince Harry arrived at the Endeavour Fund Awards ceremony late last week dressed in coordinating shades of blue.
