Bless! Meg Ryan Is Writing Her Own Rom-Com

Queen of hearts (and love stories) Meg Ryan is writing her own rom-com, and can we buy our movie tickets before it's even finished?

According to The New York Times, When Harry Met Sally star Ryan has already put pen to paper for a film script centering on a love story, in the same vein as many movies she's headlined.

"It’s at Working Title Films. I’ll just leave it at that. Getting the green light, David [the interviewer]. My God. You feel like you’re jinxing it if you’re talking about it," Ryan said.

She even plans to sit in the director's chair for the film, and we couldn't be more thrilled that Sally Albright's finally getting back in the game. (Ryan's first and only turn at directing came in the definitely-not-rom-com WWII film Ithaca, starring her former You've Got Mail love interest Tom Hanks.)

"Hopefully it’s for me to direct. I’m aware now that romantic comedies are confections, but they have construction. There’s architecture. It’s not something I was aware of back then."

Great, thanks Meg. Now we'll be sleepless (in Seattle) 'til we hear more news about this chick flick—and somebody call lover of rom-coms Mindy Kaling and let her know, please.
