Jolly Holiday Alert: Disney World’s Epcot Is Opening a ‘Mary Poppins’ Attraction

Disney has some supercalifragilisticexpialidocious news for Mary Poppins fans.

Yep, for the first time ever, Disney World is introducing a Mary Poppins themed attraction at Disney World’s Epcot theme park. Dick Van Dyke, who appeared in both the original 1964 film and 2018’s Mary Poppins Returns, fittingly announced the news at Disney’s D23 Expo fan convention over the weekend.

Not only will guests be able to walk the cobblestone streets of Cherry Tree Lane just like Mary Poppins, Jane and Michael at Epcot’s United Kingdom pavilion, but there will be an additional attraction. No details were offered about whether that attraction may be a show, ride or immersive experience, but we’re sure it will be as fun as the films. There’s also no expected arrival date just yet.

The news comes at a time when Epcot is under massive construction and in the middle of being entirely re-themed (aside from the World Showcase). Although we don’t have any concrete idea of what the Mary Poppins attraction will include, Epcot welcomed Frozen to its Norway pavilion by erecting a shop, princess-meet-and-greet and the Frozen Ever After ride. So, it’d make sense if Disney did something similar for ol’ Mary.

If you’re on your way to the happiest place on earth soon, rest assured that you can still get your Mary Poppins fix at a meet-and-greet in the United Kingdom.

That (and a spoonful of sugar) will surely make the wait a little bit easier to swallow.
