Macaulay Culkin Has Some Thoughts About Disney’s ‘Home Alone’ Reboot

Now that Disney is rebooting Home Alone, Macaulay Culkin has some thoughts about where his character, Kevin McCallister, would be today.

It all started yesterday when Bob Iger—CEO of The Walt Disney Company—announced that the studio is developing a reimagined version of the beloved Christmas movie for Disney+, an all-new streaming platform that is expected to launch later this year.

Shortly after the news broke, Culkin poked fun at the project by posting a photo on his personal Instagram account, in which he channels a modern-day version of his character.

The pic features the 38-year-old actor sitting on the couch with his belly hanging out, complete with leftovers and a laptop.

He captioned the post, “This is what an updated Home Alone would actually look like.”

Culkin even called out the studio on Twitter and wrote, “Hey @Disney, call me!”

Although we don’t know if he’ll appear in the remake, we wouldn’t blame Disney for offering him a cameo, since he coined the franchise’s iconic Home Alone face.

The 1990 movie isn’t the only film that’s getting a Disney+ reboot. Home Alone will be joining Night at the Museum, Cheaper by the Dozen, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and The Muppets, all of which are currently in development.

Well played, Culkin. Well played.
