Apparently We’ll Be Carrying Louis Vuitton Bags with Screens on Them, Come 2020

Just when we thought we were successfully limiting our screen time, Louis Vuitton dropped an all-new bag that is making us say, “Huh?”

This week, the brand debuted its Cruise 2020 collection in an over-the-top runway show in New York City. While the line is chock-full of aviator-style garments, we couldn’t help but notice the models were holding bags that had actual screens on them.

Louis Vuitton shared a video of the prototype on Instagram and wrote, “#LVCruise Canvas of the Future. #LouisVuitton premiered prototypes of a new cutting-edge bag design on the runway today. Watch the show now on Instagram.”

The runway show took place at the TWA Flight Center at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City. Celebrity attendees included Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas, Cate Blanchett, Emma Stone, Jennifer Connelly, Michelle Williams, Alicia Vikander, Julianne Moore and Karlie Kloss.

Although we don’t know when (or if) they’ll hit shelves, we can only hope the creators considered the possibility of rain, spills and everything else that a handbag is designed to endure.

As for the price, we don’t even want to know.
