Lizzo on Her Latest Rainbow Dress: ‘Somebody Said I Look Like the Home Depot Color Sample’

If you were to scroll through Lizzo’s Instagram page, you'd quickly notice that she has an eye for fashion. And aside from her bomb looks, the “Truth Hurts” singer also likes to poke fun at herself. In her latest video, she is making a bold fashion statement while also making us laugh in the process.

The Grammy Award-winning singer recently took to Instagram to share a video of herself wearing a rainbow ensemble to a SXSW event. Styled by Jason Rembert, she wore the multi-colored dress, leggings and boots on a private jet. She accessorized the look with a pair of silver hoop earrings.

While her ensemble was eye-catching, it was her funny caption that sealed the deal. She wrote, “Somebody said I look like the Home Depot color sample—bye.” Classic Lizzo. This obviously elicited a lot of responses from her fans. “A sexy home depot sample [heart eye emojis],” one person wrote in the comments section. Another said, “Is that a bad thing? It’s the best part of the hardware store!”

While attending the event, the “Juice” singer denounced the anti-trans policies in Texas. Lizzo argued the laws unfairly target members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

“I’m proud to rep Houston, but I’m not proud to rep Texas politics right now,” she said, according to NBC News. “Trans rights are human rights.”

She also used the time to talk about body image. “I don’t think society has seen the value in bigger bodies,” Lizzo said. “They don’t set us up to see our value and our worth, especially as Black women, especially as big Black women.”
