Lady Gaga Sang a Grammys Duet…with Herself

lady gaga performs shallow grammys

When there are “100 people in a room” and Bradley Cooper is at the BAFTAs, what else can you do but put on a *show*?

And that’s how we came to Lady Gaga’s solo performance of “Shallow” at the 2019 Grammy Awards.

The popular song (from the A Star Is Born soundtrack) already won two awards: Best Song Written for Visual Media and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. But that didn’t stop Gaga from giving an, um...intense performance while her costar was off rubbing elbows with royalty.

Picture a fully rhinestoned catsuit plus copious head-banging, a very wide stance and an even more enthusiastic guitar player. The cherry on top? A full 15-second stare straight into the camera (and our soul). If this sounds like the “Shallow” you know and love...we demand to know what you’ve been listening to.

All in all, the performance earned a standing ovation and some wide-eyed looks from Janelle Monáe. You do you, Gaga.
