‘GoT’ Star Kit Harington Discusses His New Life as a Father: ‘It's a Beautiful Thing’

For eight years, Kit Harington's life was full of blood, sex and dragons while he starred as Jon Snow on the smash HBO series Game of Thrones. But now, his day-to-day life looks a little bit different.

In 2011, the actor started dating his co-star, Rose Leslie, and the two eventually got married in 2018 at the Rayne Parish Church in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Then, in the fall of 2020, Leslie announced that she was pregnant, and the two welcomed their son in February of this year.

Harington just opened up in a new interview with Access Hollywood about his life as a dad. While discussing his appearance in an episode of the Amazon Prime series Modern Love, the 34-year-old actor also revealed the thing that surprised him most about fatherhood.

“The thing that surprised me most was sort of, you know, they tell you but they don't tell you [about being a parent],” he said. “Everyone goes: 'Look, it's big. What you're about to go through is big.' And you have no way of knowing that until it happens.” He added, “What surprises you is: You go, 'Oh, this goes on forever.' You don't get a break from it...Every day I wake up and I look after this little human and now we're part of a unit...You are now a unit, the three of you.”

Harington said that with this new unit, “That's a whole new dynamic you need to find.” But the Game of Thrones star closed by saying that as his son grows each day, he sees how it changes him as well. “It's a beautiful thing. It really is,” he said.

We love seeing Harington talk candidly about fatherhood. Now, we're just waiting for him to reveal that baby name.
