Ke Huy Quan Delivers Emotional Acceptance Speech at 2023 Golden Globes

Tonight at the 80th annual Golden Globes, Ke Huy Quan won the first award of the night for his outstanding performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once and gave such an emotional acceptance speech that it put us all in our feels.

The 51-year-old actor began his speech by giving a special thanks to someone who also happened to be in the audience. “Thank you, thank you so much,” Quan said. “I was raised to never forget where I came from and to always remember who gave me my first opportunity. I am so happy to see Steven Spielberg here tonight.”

In case you didn’t know, Quan started as a child actor and starred in Spielberg’s Indiana Jones.

And it’s an opportunity that he will never forget. “Steven, thank you,” he continued. “When I started my career as a child actor in Indiana Jones and The Temple Of Doom, I felt so very lucky to have been chosen.”

Quan admitted that he started to believe his acting career was over after he grew older. But, he couldn’t have been more wrong. “As I grew older, I started to wonder if that was it, if that was just luck. For so many years, I was afraid I had nothing more to offer. No matter what I did, I would never surpass what I achieved as a kid,” he added. “Thankfully, more than 30 years later, two guys thought of me. They remembered that kid, and they gave me an opportunity to try again. Everything that has happened since has been unbelievable.”

Congratulations on your win, Ke! So well deserved!
