Kate Middleton Looked Sophisticated in Navy At Her Latest Surprise Outing

Kate Middleton is back to royal business and she’s making sure to do it in style.

On Wednesday, the Duchess of Cambridge paid an unexpected visit to the Institute of Reproductive and Development Biology at Imperial College London to meet with families affected by miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth as well as hear from researchers specializing in those areas. The previously unannounced event came in honor of Baby Loss Awareness Week, which aims to provide connection, recognition and commemoration for bereaved parents.

“It’s so brave of you to be able to talk so openly,” Middleton told Clare Wogan, a woman who lost a child, according to People. “A lot of the research, a lot of the support for organizations, is being driven by parents who have been through this experience, and want to help others. It is so inspirational.”

For the occasion, the 38-year-old opted for a sophisticated and simple look. She wore a deep blue, long-sleeve midi dress by Emilia Wickstead with matching colored Prada pumps. She topped off her look with a black leather belt, a pair of Alia Hoops from Spells of Love and a light blue floral mask by Amaia Kids. Her hair was styled in her signature center-parted fashion with voluminous loose curls.

At one point during the outing, the duchess put on a lab coat, as the researchers showed her around their facilities at the institute.

This look comes just days after Middleton wowed fans with an all-black ensemble during a video address for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards. The outfit featured a long-sleeved top, a pair of black trousers and a fitted black blazer (reportedly from Alexander McQueen) with statement shoulders.

Keep these chic looks coming, Kate.
