We Nearly Missed This One Detail from Kate Middleton’s Latest Midi Dress

Kate Middleton recently surprised a group of schoolchildren during a special video call, and we almost missed a minor—yet important—detail.

Last week, the Duchess of Cambridge, 38, teamed up with professional tennis player, Sir Andy Murray, to surprise young athletes from Bond Primary School in London. (The appearance was in honor of this year’s canceled Wimbledon tournament.)

During the Zoom call, Middleton wore a green shirt dress that’s printed with what appear to be flowers—but upon closer inspection, it’s clear they’re actually mini tennis players.

The royal is wearing the Maria midi dress by HVN, which retails for $775. (Beware: The item is already almost sold out.) The frock features a cinch waist, button-down front and silky fabric that’s printed with little figures playing tennis.

The dress wasn’t Middleton’s only salute to the sport. She also wore a green and purple bow pinned to her lapel, which is a tribute to the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club (AELTC). Since the duchess has served as a patron since 2016, she’s supposed to wear the honorary bow to tennis-related events.

Although she’s donned the accessory to every Wimbledon tournament since 2017, this Zoom call will have to suffice this year.

Shout-out to Middleton for going above and beyond, even from the comfort of her own home.
