Jennifer Garner Reveals She’s Currently Filming Her ‘Dream Role’ (& We Know What It Is)

Jennifer Garner has played all kinds of iconic roles, whether it was her turn as the whimsical Jenna Rink in 13 Going on 30, or her performance as the supportive mother in Love, Simon. But while Garner has taken part in plenty of notable films and TV shows, it sounds like her latest could end up being one of her best, and it's a part that the 50-year-old actress is super excited to portray.

It was revealed last fall that Garner will portray Hannah Hall in the Apple TV+ television adaptation of Laura Dave's bestselling novel, The Last Thing He Told Me. And now, it looks like filming is underway, at least according to a new Instagram post from Garner, who is seen peeking out the door of her trailer on set of the show.

“Dream role, dream team,” Garner wrote in her caption. “Week one. [Check mark emoji]. #TheLastThingHeToldMe, streaming next year on @appletvplus.”

For those who haven't read the page-turning thriller, The Last Thing He Told Me follows a mother named Hannah (Garner), whose husband, Owen, disappears into thin air, leaving her with a mysterious message that tells her to protect his daughter (and her stepdaughter), Bailey. And while Hannah and Bailey do not have the closest relationship, the pair quickly forge a bond as they discover the many secrets that Owen was hiding.

In addition to Garner, Apple has revealed other stars who will fill out the cast, including Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in the role of Owen and Angourie Rice in the role of Bailey. The show will also feature Geoff Stults, John Harlan Kim, Augusto Aguilera and Aisha Tyler.

Dave, the book's author, will also pen the screenplay for the show, and she is working as co-creator and executive producer alongside her husband, Josh Singer. Other executive producers will include Garner, Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Marisa Yeres Gill and Lisa Gillan.

We can't wait for this.
