The Bush-Hager clan just added another member to their growing family.
On Friday, Jenna Bush Hager and her husband, Henry, welcomed their third child together, a baby boy named Henry Harold Hager, or “Hal.” The newborn weighed 7 pounds, 5 ounces and measured in at 19.29 inches.
The Today with Hoda & Jenna co-host, 37, announced the exciting news on her personal Instagram account and shared a slideshow of photos taken moments after Hal entered the world.
She captioned the post, “Welcome to the world my darling Henry Harold ‘Hal’ Hager! Hal came into the world Friday, August 2, 2019 at 9:02am and our life has never been sweeter.”
Although Jenna and Henry are also parents to two daughters—Mila (6) and Poppy (3)—this is the first grandson for both sides of the family. The newborn inherited his first name from his father, while his middle name came from Jenna’s grandfather, Harold Welch (aka former first lady Laura Bush’s dad.)
In an interview with TODAY, Jenna admitted that she had a hard time choosing a moniker. “We weren’t exactly sure about the name,” she said. “Then his big sisters called him ‘Hal pal,’ and we thought, ‘This is just perfect.’”
The proud mom also confirmed that Mila and Poppy are adjusting well to life with their new brother. “Mila and Poppy came and picked him out in the nursery, and they’re just crazy about him,” she continued. “The girls are so thrilled that they have a little baby brother all of their own.”
