Ted Lasso fans, you better sit down for this one because actor Jason Sudeikis is spilling all the deets about the upcoming season—and the unlikely prospect of a season four.
Is There Going to Be a ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4? Jason Sudeikis Shares His Thoughts
In an exclusive interview with Deadline, the 47-year-old actor revealed that the third installment feels like a final farewell to the comedy series. He jokingly shared with the outlet, “I mean, there’s always Cameo, right?”
But on a more serious note, he said, “This is the end of this story that we wanted to tell, that we were hoping to tell, that we loved to tell. The fact that folks will want more and are curious beyond more than what they don’t even know yet—that being Season 3—it’s flattering.”
The Ted Lasso star casually teased that the creators of the show are likely done with things but could have a change of heart once the new season premieres. He explained, “Maybe by May 31, once all 12 episodes of the season [have been released], they’re like, ‘Man, you know what, we get it, we’re fine. We don’t need anymore, we got it.’ But until that time comes, I will appreciate the curiosity beyond what we’ve come up with so far.”
If the hit comedy series is coming to an end after season three, this begs the question: Could there be a possible spin-off? When asked about the prospect, Sudeikis didn’t seem closed off to the idea. “Yeah, I think that we’ve set the table for all sorts of folks…to get to watch the further telling of these stories,” he said.
Sudeikis continued, “Again, I can’t help but take the question as flattery for what all of us that were working on the show has tried to do. It’s really kind of folks to even consider that because you never know what’s gonna happen when you make things. The fact that people want more, even if it’s a different avenue is lovely.”
But we’re not ready to say goodbye to Ted and the rest of the gang just yet…
The third season of Ted Lasso premieres on Apple TV+ on March 15.
