Calling all lazy cats: A Garfield-themed restaurant is about to open in Toronto, because why the heck not?
Everyone’s favorite bright orange comic strip cat serves as the inspiration to a whole menu of pizzas, lasagna, coffees and cookies.
According to blogTo, a site that covers all things food-related in Toronto, the company already operates an online food delivery service called GarfieldEats in Dubai, where drivers deliver orders for free in environmentally-friendly packaging via green electric scooters. Toronto diners will soon have access to the app—and, most importantly, giant pizzas and cookies shaped like Garfield. There will also be “Garficcino” coffees, fruit juices and lasagna. Oh, wait, did we already mention the lasagna part? It’s the cat’s favorite food, after all.
A physical restaurant will also be opening, and get this: Instead of ordering and paying with cashiers, guests will use mobile phones on the walls. While they wait for their cat-shaped pies, they can engage in augmented reality Garfield games. Really and truly everything that we could ever hope for in a dining experience…
For more info, head over to the company’s interactive website. And before you rush and book your plane tickets, rest assured that GarfieldEats plans to open more locations worldwide by 2025. Cat-shaped pizzas for one and all! Just don’t stop by on Monday, he might be a little grumpy.
