We Somehow Missed These Rare Photos of Courteney Cox's Parents (& She Looks So Much Like Them)

For Father's Day this year, we saw loads of special posts from our favorite celebrities, many of whom shared rare photos of their husbands, or their own fathers, to celebrate the holiday.

One of those stars was Courteney Cox, who made an emotional post for her late father, Richard Lewis Cox, with a caption that said, “Happy Father’s Day. Missing my daddy today.”

While we had scoured Instagram for the best Father's Day posts, we don't know how we missed this one. Cox treated her followers to three incredible throwbacks, the first of which features the actress hugging her father, while the second looks like a high school-aged Cox sitting next to her dad on the couch.

But the best might be the last image, where we see a vintage shot of Cox's father standing next to her mom, Courteney Copeland. And while the Friends star looks pretty similar to her father, we could've sworn that picture of her mom was an old shot of Cox (and it makes sense they share the same first name too).

Cox's father passed away in 2001 at the age of 69. The actress still spends time with her mother and she even shared a selfie with her namesake back in 2020 for Mother's Day, where the two were seen posing with Cox's daughter, Coco, on the beach.

In the caption she said, “Here we are, my mom, Coco and me wrapped together in our generational trifecta. I am so grateful to be my daughter’s mother, and my mother’s daughter. This is just one of the many beautiful memories I will always treasure. Whether I’m right next to you in the ocean, or oceans apart, I love you always Moma. Wishing you a very happy Mother’s Day! ♥️.”

Talk about powerful genes.
