On a Budget? These Are the 5 Cheapest Cities to Tie the Knot

Weddings, as we all know, are devastatingly expensive. And ICYMI, the average U.S. cost skyrocketed last year, jumping from $27,000 to $44,000. Yeesh. Which is why Wallethub's new Best Places to Get Married Survey immediately caught our attention. 

The personal finance website recently studied more than 180 U.S. cities to uncover the most affordable and otherwise convenient American locales to tie the knot in. The verdict is in: After examining "27 key factors of wedding friendliness" (ie. venue costs, event spaces per capita, hotel availability, etc.), Wallethub found that these five cities are the most accommodating to soirees with small budgets: 

1. El Paso, Texas
2. Brownsville, Texas
3. Las Cruces, New Mexico
4. Huntington, West Virginia 
5. Knoxville, Tennessee

OK, so they aren't exactly the destination wedding locations you had in mind. But if relocating means room in the budget for a live band, statement cake and the dress of your dreams...
