The internet is blowing up with priceless commentary after Camilla Parker Bowles winked at officials during a recent photocall.
It all started yesterday during the state visit when the Duchess of Cornwall, 71, stopped by Clarence House for tea with her husband, Prince Charles, and their guests: Donald and Melania Trump.
When she arrived, Bowles was spotted peering over her shoulder and winking, which—lucky for us—was captured on camera.
Charlie Proctor, an editor for the U.K. publication Royal Central, shared the footage on his personal Twitter account and jokingly wrote, “Royal Protection Officer: ‘Camilla, if you are in trouble then wink, we will come and rescue you.’”
Of course, Bowles didn’t need rescuing. And her wink actually was much more revealing about her all-around playful personality than anything else.
In fact, this is one of the first times we’ve seen Bowles break her usually protocol-focused nature. Not only does it prove that she’s far more lively than we ever thought possible, but it also speaks volumes about her close-knit relationship with the staff.
Maybe Bowles isn’t so uptight, after all.
