Barbie Has an Important PSA for Girls About Over-Apologizing

The Barbie of our childhood was a pretty doll we dressed up and played with.

The Barbie of 2018 (whose full name, we just recently learned, is Barbara Millicent Roberts) is socially conscious and totally rad.

Case in point: The above video, which Barbie made about women and girls' tendency toward over-apologizing.

In the vlog-style video titled "Sorry Reflex," she explains that saying sorry because it's a force of habit (or "learned reflex") can be harmful to girls' self-confidence. She then goes on to challenge viewers (of which there have already been more than 676,000) to rethink how often they apologize by going a whole day without saying sorry.

The message is so on point and, honestly, one that we as grown women need to think about more closely.

Thanks, girl doll.
