Weighted blankets are known for being calming, comforting and for promoting better sleep. But one thing they're not exactly famous for? Looking chic. Most come in a drab gray shade with a simple quilted design to ensure that the weighted beads are evenly distributed throughout. Practical, but not exactly something we're looking to show off to house guests.
But that's about to be a thing of the past. Today, West Elm released its collaboration with Bearaby, a sustainable weighted blanket startup. The result? Two ultra stylish "couch-worthy" designs—the Bearaby Velvet Weighted Blanket and the Bearaby TENCELTTM Weighted Blanket—that we can't wait to proudly display draped over the back of our couch.
And in addition to taking our bedroom decor up a notch, they're made with materials that we can totally get behind. Unlike most weighted blankets, which get their weight from artificial filling and plastic materials, these weighted blankets get their 15, 20, or 25 pounds from heavy plant-based fabric. That means that they're all-natural, responsibly sourced and 100% vegan.
The only problem is that now we want one of each.
