We’re Giving an Old-Fashioned Bourbon Sour a Citrus Twist (and You’re Gonna Love It)

A basic bourbon sour is a solid go-to cocktail. But why not turn things up a notch? We’re giving the classic cocktail a citrus twist (blood orange, to be exact) with the help of Young Kim, bartender at NYC’s The Flatiron Room.

What You Need:
 - ½ ounce Campari
 - ¾ ounce orange juice
 - ¾ ounce sour mix
 - 1 ounce egg whites
 - 1½ ounces bourbon
 - Ice
 - Orange zest
 - Bitters

Step 1: Combine the Campari, orange juice, sour mix, egg whites and bourbon in a cocktail shaker.

Step 2: Give it all a good mix before adding ice and shaking again.

Step 3: Strain the cocktail into a glass and grate orange zest on top.

Step 4: Finish it off with exactly 8 drops of bitters (7 around the edge and one right in the middle). Run a toothpick through the drops for a heart effect. Cheers!
