ICYMI: We just found the best dressed group on the 2024 Oscars red carpet.
The entire Godzilla Minus One team honored the ferocious beast with the coolest footwear. CG Director Masaki Takhashi, Director Takashi Yamazaki, Visual Effects Director Kiyoko Shibuya and Compositor Tatsuji Nojima all wore black shoes featuring a giant Godzilla claw around the heel. Talk about making a statement at the Oscars.
The internet is already raving about the style choice. As one commenter shares, "A good luck charm, of course."
Aside from the Godzilla-inspired shoes, they also each brought a plus-one to the carpet—miniature Godzilla toys (and yes, the gold version has a cute little bowtie). This film crew is not holding back on the accessories, because who needs a regular ol' handbag?
The Japanese epic film is nominated for Best Visual Effects at the Oscars. It is also the first Godzilla film to be nominated for an Academy Award and the first Japanese film to receive a nomination in that category.
