Looking for ‘Virgin River’ Season 3 Spoilers? Right This Way...

There’s no denying that the Virgin River season two finale left us with a ton of unanswered questions. Lucky for us, back in December, Netflix officially announced the renewal of the hit series and revealed that fans will be getting a third installment (although, we don’t know when). However, while we’ve been focusing on everything we don’t know about season three, we decided to switch things up and focus on what we do know. After scouring the internet for spoilers, natch, we think we found a few promising ones. 

We’ll start with the most obvious question: Who shot Jack at the end of season two? While stars and showrunners have been mum on the subject, there are currently a few theories floating around the internet. The majority of fans are leaning towards the attempted murderer being Calvin (David Cubitt). Not only is he the town’s drug importer and distributor but he’s also got major beef with Jack. Other possibilities include Brady (Ben Hollingsworth) as being the culprit while some people are even suspecting Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley). Either way, there’s compelling evidence for all three. 

While we’re on the topic of Jack’s shooting, we also think it’s important to mention that while the episode leaves us questioning whether or not he will survive, he definitely does. However, we most likely won’t find out who his assailant is for a while. In an interview with TV Line, the showrunner, Sue Tenney, revealed that the mystery is something they “can play with over several seasons.” 

Jack’s injury wasn’t the only plotline left open. Towards the end of the season, Doc (Tim Matheson) was given a grim diagnosis by his doctor, but we never actually got more information about what will happen with his health. According to Alexandra Breckenridge, Doc’s health issue is going to be a major player in the upcoming season.  “We're led to believe that he has some kind of health issue. Something is going on, we're just not quite sure what it is,” she told ET Online. She also hinted that she knows how Doc and Hope’s relationship will play out. 

As far as the cast goes, season three is bringing in two new recurring characters. Zibby Allen (Grey’s Anatomy) will play Jack’s sister Brie and Stacey Farber (Degrassi: The Next Generation) will star as Lilly’s daughter Tara. Based on our research, it seems fans believe that Brie will start a relationship with Jack's friend Mike Valenzuela (Marco Grazzini). Why? Well, the series is based on the best-selling book series by Robyn Carr—although, Virgin River tends to deviate—and Brie and Mike form a relationship in the novels. One Reddit user wrote, “The third book's main storyline is Brie and Mike, but the second book is all about Preacher and Paige and season two still included tons of Jack and Mel storyline so I think it will be a bit of everything!" This could mean that we see the romance take place in season three (or perhaps season four if the show continues). 

We’re sure more spoilers will come to light once we get deeper into the filming of season three. But for now, we’ll take what we can get
