Love Tennis, Fashion & Food? You’re in Luck: Fans Are Back at the US Open

us open tennis 2021 visitors guide

US Open fans are back in action, baby! And we could not be more excited as America’s biggest tennis tournament is making its great return to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, right here in Queens. The tournament just kicked off and goes until September 12, so you have plenty of time to don your tennis best, grab a Honey Deuce and take in all the entertainment that the tennis center has to offer (psst, buy tickets here). Here’s what you need to know ahead of your visit.

You Must Follow the US Open Safety Procedures

As thrilling as it is to be able to attend a sporting event IRL again, it’s still extremely important to follow the current safety guidelines set by the CDC, New York State and New York City. To attend the US Open, all fans 12 years old and older are now required to show proof of at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccination. We also recommend bringing a face mask in your bag as they may be required in certain areas. As always, practice social distancing when possible and keep hand sanitizer at the ready.

The 2021 Food Options Are *Chef’s Kiss*

Trust us when we say you’ll want to go on an empty stomach. This year’s food options are meant to reflect on the vibrancy and culture of New York City. Joining previous fan-favorites like Pat LaFrieda’s, Fuku and Hill Country Barbecue, is Michelin-star chef Alex Guarnaschelli’s new restaurant concept, Fare by Alex Guarnaschelli, plus celebrity chef Josh Capon is introducing Fly Fish @ Oyster Bar. Also new to the US Open in 2021 is Eataly, Los Tacos No. 1, Urbun, Stuf’d, San Matteo NYC and Stacked Sandwich Shop. Sign us up for all the lobster rolls, bao buns, tacos and sweets.

The Drinks Will Keep You Cool and Refreshed

Do yourself a favor and sip on the official cocktail of the US Open: Grey Goose Honey Deuce (hint: it’s available frozen too). It’s Grey Goose vodka topped with fresh lemonade and raspberry liqueur. Or if you’re more of a wino, enjoy the official wine of the tournament at the Kim Crawford Wine Bar. Might we suggest their signature Frosé? We’re also partial to the pineapple green tea from Poke Yachty, the cookie creama-espresso from Lavazza and the rose milk tea from Urbun.

Last But Certainly Not Least, the Matches Will Not Disappoint

All eyes are on world No. 1 player Novak Djokovic as he attempts to become the first man to win all four Grand Slam® titles in a calendar year since 1969. Be sure to reference the schedule of play to keep an eye on the standings for each day.
