What Year Was Your Name the Most Popular?

The results may surprise you

In case you haven’t noticed, we’re a bit obsessive about names over here. (What with all the French and Irish and Instagram-inspired baby ideas floating around.)

But what about your own name? When was it at its buzziest?

Go to Names.org to find out. Just enter it into the search field and a timeline chart will pop up. Some are expected (1986 for “Jessica” and 2008 for “Isabella”) while others are a historical crapshoot (for instance, “Mary” enjoyed a solid run from 1915 to 1950 but surprisingly declined sharply after that).

If you’re looking to burn about 10 minutes of your day, this is an excellent way to do it. We’ve plugged in everyone from our mom to our husband to our coworker to that hippie neighbor’s kid. Enjoy the addiction.
