This Brand-New Children’s Book Is Already a Fave of Kerry Washington, Gabrielle Union & More Celebs

If you’re looking for ways to start the at-home conversation about creating positive change within the community, consider this inspiring children’s book that’s been approved by several celebrity mothers, including Gabrielle Union, Busy Philipps and Kerry Washington.

Meena Harris recently debuted Kamala and Maya’s Big Idea, which is based on the real-life story of her mother, Maya, and her aunt, U.S. Senator Kamala Harris. It follows the pair as they turn an unutilized apartment courtyard into a play area for kids and leaves readers with a positive message: “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.”

Ever since it hit bookshelves earlier this month, celebs have been flooding social media with positive reviews. Union posted a photo on her Instagram Story, confirming that she and her daughter, Kaavia (1), are enjoying the read.

Philipps also shared a slideshow on Instagram, featuring a pic of Harris followed by a snap of her daughter, Cricket (6), reading a bedtime story.

She wrote, “We received it three days ago, and Cricket and I have read it every night before bed.”

Washington re-shared a post on her Instagram Story and revealed that she’s planning on reading Kamala and Maya’s Big Idea with her two children, Isabelle (6) and Caleb (3).
