How to Do a Perfectly Messy Low Knotted Ponytail

Achieving the perfect messy bun is a near impossible task. Even if you manage to get the combo of hair ties, bobby pins and wispy strands just right, it always seems to fall apart the second you walk away from the mirror. But the perfect messy ponytail requires only two things: a handful of hair elastics and the ability to tie a simple knot. Watch to see how it’s done

Step 1: Divide your hair into three equal parts and secure the middle section with a hair elastic at the base of your neck.

Step 2: Separately twist the two side sections before tying them in a knot above the middle ponytail.

Step 3: Cross the side sections underneath the middle pony and secure with another hair elastic.

Step 4: Repeat steps one through three until all of your hair is incorporated. (You can also leave a little tail at the end, if you prefer.)

This Ponytail Upgrade Is as Easy as Pointing Your Finger
