How to Do Slicked-Back Hair That Looks Super Sleek and Chic

Step away from the curling iron—it’s time to switch things up. Trade those bouncing curls for a chic, slicked-back hairdo this week. Bonus: It takes way less time than curling all that gorgeous hair and requires absolutely no heat. Here, how to do slicked-back hair that looks super sleek.

Step 1:

First, start with wet hair. (Right out of the shower will do). Run a bit of shine crème through your strands while brushing them back.

Step 2:

Next, pin the top third of your hair into a temporary topknot.

Step 3:

Use a styling mousse to slick back the sides of your hair. Use a brush to flatten any strays before securing each side with crisscrossed bobby pins.

Step 4:

Take down the topknot and smooth your hair down and back for a sleek, humidity-proof hairdo. Voilá.
