Another day, another sexual wellness product we’re adding to our cart. Only this time, this one’s eco-friendly.
Popular wellness brand Womanizer has launched a biodegradable and recyclable (even vegan) version of its popular Premium toy called the Premium eco. As part of its continued efforts toward a more sustainable and eco-friendly sexual wellness industry, Womanizer fittingly dropped the new product on Earth Day, April 22.
According to a press release, the Premium Eco is made of Biolene (don’t worry, we didn’t know what it was either)—a bioplastic made from 70 percent natural materials. The toy can also be disassembled, and the individual parts can be composted or recycled. In addition, it features a replaceable and rechargeable battery, which extends the product's runtime.
“The sexual wellness industry has grown immensely in recent years and the products are gaining more and more social acceptance. We can’t ignore the fact that growth in the industry means more product—and plastic—out in the world,” said Johanna Rief, Head of Sexual Empowerment at Womanizer, in a press release. “As an industry, we must continue to improve on our work to find long-term solutions for the plastic waste and environmental impacts caused by our product production for the sake of the planet and future generations.”
