Barbecue Brisket

Average ()

When you purchase a good cut of meat, it doesn’t need all the bells and whistles—just a simple rub and if you’re going for BBQ—a good sauce. In this case, Private Selection Beef Brisket is seasoned with Blazin’ Bourbon BBQ Rub and then basted with Blackstrap Molasses BBQ Sauce that gets caramelized on the grill. Yum.

Ingredients

Directions

1. Trim any excess fat from the brisket so there’s about ¼ inch of fat remaining. Sprinkle with the Private Selection Blazin’ Bourbon BBQ Rub evenly on all sides. Wrap well in plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. 30 minutes before cooking, remove the brisket from the fridge and bring to room temperature.

2. When ready to cook, preheat the oven to 300°F. Wrap the brisket in foil and place in a roasting pan.

3. Bake until the brisket is fork tender, 3 to 4 hours. Remove from the oven and cool for 30 to 40 minutes.

4. Meanwhile, lightly grease a large grill pan with oil and preheat to medium-high heat. Sear the brisket until charred, about 5 minutes per side. Baste with Private Selection Black Strap BBQ Sauce and grill for a few more minutes to caramelize. Remove and rest the meat for another 30 minutes to 1 hour before thinly slicing against the grain and serving.
