UberWINE Is a Thing That Exists, and We’re Ready to Get Our Cabernet On

We all know the benefits of ride-sharing apps (namely, not having to find a designated driver, splitting the cost of a trip easily between friends and getting real-time alerts about where the driver is and how close you are to your destination). But Uber has now upped the game with UberWINE, making it easier (and more affordable) than ever to tour wine country.

Here’s how it works: Once you’re ready to tour the vineyards of Napa, Sonoma, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo (for the Paso Robles wineries) or Valle de Guadalupe, simply open your Uber app and swipe to the specialty Uber selection. There, you’ll see UberWINE, which requests a driver for the whole day, dropping you off at each stop on your vineyard tour. The driver will wait patiently as you sniff and sip your way through Cali (or Mexico for Valle de Guadalupe), then shuttle you along to your next destination.

On average, UberWINE costs about $35 an hour (way cheaper than hiring a car service or trying to request an Uber between each stop).

The feature has actually been around for a few years (who knew?!), but this makes our summer vacation planning so. Much. Easier.

We're picking up notes of lemon and sage (and five stars for our driver).
