Kate Middleton & Prince William Have a ‘No Shouting Rule’ for Their Three Kids (Along with a Couple Other Parenting Tips)

We know members of the royal family must abide by Queen Elizabeth’s strict list of royal rules, but that doesn’ mean each individual family doesn’t have their own set of regulations. This includes the Cambridges, who, apparently, have a handful of guidelines that both children and parents must follow

In an interview with The Sun, a source close to the family revealed that Kate Middleton and Prince William have a stern set of guidelines for their three kids, George, 6, Charlotte, 5, and Louis, 2. One of the most important on the list is absolutely no shouting in the home. Instead, the children “are encouraged to talk about their feelings” in a more constructive manner.

"They express their concerns over school subjects, a swimming class, a tricky ballet maneuver, a missed tennis rally, or seeing children starving on a TV ad. But a talk ensues and a solution found,” the source said.

And it appears this rule doesn’t just apply to the children. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have also adopted the rule themselves in aims to present a "united front."

"There is no question of one parent saying 'no' and the other saying 'yes' later on as Kate and William want to present a unified parental front to their children," the source continued. One of those rules? Limited TV time, especially during quarantine. "The television is not on throughout the day and programs have to be met with parental approval," the source continued.

For the Cambridge clan, it really is all about being open with emotions and making sure to communicate your feelings effectively with one another. That means absolutely no going to bed angry or upset.

"Emotional coaching is a Cambridge parental building block," the source revealed. "Awareness of others less fortunate than themselves, physical and mental health and going to sleep in a calm happy house is so utterly important to them all.”

Honestly? These are rules we should all live by.
