Being the big football fan that he is, Prince William, 42, quickly logged onto social media to share how he felt following the game between England men’s soccer (or what the Brits call football) team and Slovakia this past Sunday night.

In a now-expired post shared on the Prince and Princess of Wales’s Instagram Story (which was originally posted on the official England soccer team’s page), a photo shows two players from the English team celebrating their win. (FYI, England’s men’s soccer team won 2-0 against Slovakia and are now headed to the 2024 Euro Quarter Finals.)

Alongside the post, Prince William congratulated the team with a heartfelt message. He wrote, “Emotional rollercoaster! Let’s go @england! Quarter finals here we come!” And to make sure everyone (especially royally obsessed fans) knew the message was written by the future king himself, the Prince of Wales signed with his initial: “W.”

This is not the first time the royal prince has shown his support for the English men’s soccer team. Last month, Prince William traveled to St. George’s Park in Burton upon Trent to wish them good luck in the UEFA EURO 2024 tournament.

While meeting the athletes, Prince William shared the one piece of advice he received from his youngest child, Prince Louis. “The best bit of advice I got was to eat twice the amount you normally would eat!” the father of three said, per Hello! Magazine
