Meghan Markle Shares Her Son's Two-Word Review of Her New Book (and It's Pretty Adorable)

It looks like Meghan Markle's very first book just got Archie's stamp of approval.

During her interview with NPR, which was recorded before she welcomed Lilibet, the Duchess of Sussex revealed that Archie, her 2-year-old son, is loving her new children's book, The Bench. She said, "Archie loves the book. He has a voracious appetite for books... When we read him a book, he goes 'Again, again.'"

Markle added, "Now the fact that he loves The Bench and we can say, 'Mommy wrote this for you,' feels amazing."

For those who are unfamiliar with Markle's new best-seller, it's a poem that's told from the perspective of a mother who observes the special bond between fathers and sons—and it was actually inspired by Prince Harry. Markle explained, "Watching them from out of the window and watching [my husband] just, you know, rock him to sleep or carry him ... those lived experiences, from my observation, are the things that I infused in this poem."

Still, Harry wasn't the only inspiration behind this heartwarming tale. Markle also kept her son in mind while putting the story together. She said, "Kids, they just pick up on everything and that was one of the pieces that I think was important for me," she said. "I knew our son would notice all those elements. And he loves it."

The Bench also features colorful illustrations of diverse families, including depictions of Markle and her own family, along with their pets. She revealed, "Growing up, I remember so much how it felt to not see yourself represented. Any child or any family hopefully can open this book and see themselves in it, whether that means glasses or freckled or a different body shape or a different ethnicity or religion."

It's no wonder Archie is already such a huge fan of this book.
