Kate Middleton Sparkles in Sold-Out Needle & Thread Gown at Buckingham Palace Reception

Kate Middleton just stepped out in the ultimate winter evening gown.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge held a reception at Buckingham Palace on Monday on behalf of Queen Elizabeth to mark the U.K.-Africa Investment Summit, taking place in London.

For the occasion, Middleton opted for a red Aurora sequin gown from Needle & Thread ($599) and paired the look with a Jenny Packham Casa clutch, Gianvito Rossi Gianvito 105 red suede pumps ($695) and ruby earrings from Soru jewelry ($186). See her full look below.

The dress is from the brand's new pre-Spring 2020 collection and is available in sizes 0 to 14. Featuring five colors—cherry red, ballet black, graphite silver, dusk blue, and vintage blossom—the gown comes in a floor-length version (Middleton’s) and in a mini length ($519).

Unfortunately for us, the gown is currently sold out (but here’s one similar while we wait for it to be back in stock.).

During the event, the couple welcomed heads of state and government, their spouses or partners, delegate members of the U.K. government and U.K. and African business figures.

Accompanying the royal couple were Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex (who was celebrating her 55th birthday). Edward, Prince Charles’s younger brother, and his wife often take on official royal duties on behalf of the queen.

Red is officially our new fave color for the Cambridges.
