Kate Middleton & Prince William Defy Royal Protocol with Rare PDA at Latest Outing

Kate Middleton and Prince William got cozy during their latest royal outing together.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the South Wales resort of Mumbles on Tuesday, where they met with rescue crew members and volunteers at the Lifeboat Station near Swansea and watched the crew undertake a launch.

While the royal couple has been known to keep things professional, the duo appeared more relaxed with each other, showing some rare PDA throughout the day.

During their visit, the royal couple met members of the public at the popular seafront where William placed a hand on Middleton's shoulder as they spoke to well-wishers outside the local station.

The mother of three also performed a similar gesture when she and her hubby first arrived at the RNLI lifeboat station on the Pier. See the sweet moment below.

Oh, and we can’t forget about this one from later in the afternoon.

While there is no royal law that forbids future monarchs (or second-in-line-to-the-throne princes, for that matter) from showing affection, Queen Elizabeth II set a precedent that encourages royals to keep their hands to themselves.

When it comes down to it, the level of PDA a royal is allowed really depends on the setting, the occasion and who’s watching.

Whatever the reason for this rare public display of affection, we’re totally here for it.
