Kate Middleton and Prince William are honoring Queen Elizabeth for her birthday!
On Tuesday, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge posted a picture with Her Majesty on their official Instagram account, Kensington Royal. They captioned the ’gram, “Wishing Her Majesty The Queen a very happy 94th birthday today!”
In the photo, we see the trio standing in a garden. Queen Elizabeth dons a chic, lemon-yellow coat over a floral dress, while Kate is opting for a long floral midi dress. Of course, William appears dapper in a navy suit and a white shirt.
While the queen usually celebrates her birthday with family, this year, she will be celebrating with little fanfare. Instead, the monarch is spending it privately at Windsor Castle, where she is currently self-isolating with her husband, Prince Philip.
Elizabeth has also requested that there be no special gun salutes to mark her birthday, which usually consist of army cannons being fired in the Royal Parks in central London.
However, even though she can’t physically be with her loved ones, we’re pretty sure she’ll squeeze in some video chats with her great-grandchildren. Last week, Middleton and Prince William revealed that they have been using video chats to stay in touch with the rest of their family.
“We’ve been talking to all the family online. And it’s been a really good way of keeping in touch and seeing each other,” said William.
