Kate Middleton Is Holding a Contest for Kids, so May the (Royal) Odds Be Ever in Their Favor

By royal decree, Duchess Kate Middleton is hosting a special children's competition in partnership with British kids' show Blue Peter, and the winner gets to help Middleton decorate her "Back to Nature" garden for RHS Wisley in September.

The longest-running children's TV show in the U.K., Blue Peter, is launching a special episode of the program called "By Royal Appointment" and starring Her Royal Highness Middleton to go along with the contest. The 30-minute show—which they're calling "a special film"—is set to premiere today, June 13, at 5:30 p.m. BST, so at 12 noon EST, on the CBBC.

The competition asks viewers to design a special sculpture to be placed in the duchess's "Back to Nature" garden at the Royal Horticultural Society's Wisley Garden in September.

The duchess originally unveiled this garden at the Chelsea Flower Show in May, and brought Prince William, George, Charlotte and Louis to check it out. Needless to say, they approved (especially of the rope swing).

The duchess also created a collection of outdoor activity cards for the garden. The competition's two runners-up will get the chance to design their very own Blue Peter activity cards.

The contest starts today and closes on June 25. For more deets on how to enter, visit www.bbc.co.uk/bluepeter.

Just one question: When you say "kids" competition, does that include adults that are kids at heart? Asking for a friend...
