Kate Middleton’s Latest Ensemble Is a Subtle Tribute to Princess Diana

Kate Middleton honored Princess Diana just days after what would have been her 59th birthday.

To mark the 72nd birthday of the NHS, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn on Sunday. During the visit, the couple joined employees for afternoon tea and thanked them for their work in helping their community.

“Whether you are existing staff, former staff members who came out of retirement, volunteers or key workers—we thank you for the resilience, perseverance and hope you’ve shown our nation,” they captioned an Instagram post showing pics from the event.

After scrolling through all of the photos—at least ten times—we couldn't help but take note of Middleton’s dress—a deep blue number from the brand Beulah London (we’re not surprised that she opted for blue since it’s the official color of the NHS). She topped off her look with a pair of diamond and yellow gold Patrick Mavros earrings.

Featuring a white-collar and small, repeating pattern, the duchess’s shirtdress reminded us of a similar item donned by the 38-year-old’s late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, in 1985. The main difference? Princess Di's dress, which she wore during a meeting at Kensington Palace, had a silk bow in the front.

Kate Middleton has long been a supporter of Beulah London. In fact, she owns a red version of the gown which she recently wore for a virtual engagement during Mental Health Awareness Week.

As of now, the brand’s official website is under construction (we hope that means it’s stocking up), so no word on when it’ll be back up and running.
