Justin Hartley just dropped a bombshell about his This Is Us character, Kevin Pearson, and we’re not sure we can handle it on top of the slow weekly burn that is the unraveling of Jack Pearson’s death.
We’ve seen hints of Kevin’s inner turmoil throughout the show (e.g., crying at a stranger’s funeral and having a meltdown on the set of The Manny), and as Hartley shared, Kevin will continue to suppress his feelings in season two as he wanders “down a dark path.”
The This Is Us star explained Kevin’s forthcoming emotional journey, saying, “He’s wondering, why does everyone think he’s so special when the truth of the matter is, at the end of the day, he hasn’t done anything extraordinary?” Way harsh, Tai.
Hartley continued, “That’s a dark and lonely place for a person to go… We get to see him fall apart a little bit, and go into a depression.”
