ABC Just Found a New Host to Replace Tyra Banks on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ After Departure News

Just last week, Tyra Banks announced to the world that she is is stepping down from her hosting position on Dancing with the Stars. And now, it appears that ABC has already found a new replacement.

According to USA Today, dancer and actress Julianne Hough will take over for Banks as co-host on the dancing show. In case you didn’t know, Hough previously served as a judge and a professional dancer. (She won the trophy twice.)

Today, the network celebrated the news by sharing a photo of Hough standing next to fellow DWTS host Alfonso Ribeiro on Twitter. The caption read, “We are so excited to welcome @juliannehough as co-host of #DWTS Season 32 along with @alfonso_ribeiro!”

The news came just a few days after Banks announced she’s leaving the show in an interview with TMZ, where she told the outlet:  “I feel it’s time for me to really focus on my business and my entrepreneurship and also producing more TV but behind the scenes. I think it's time to graduate from the dance floor to the stock market floor.”

Banks, who started hosting the show in 2020, admitted that “it’s time” for her to move on and pursue other opportunities.

The former talk show host continued, “I’m an entrepreneur at heart...I think my heart, my soul, is into my business. It's also into producing new TV, which we're working on—we have a new business show coming soon. But I really, really want to focus on my business, and you can't do that hosting a show. So, you'll see me creating things, not just hosting things.”

To that, she jokingly added, “From the ballroom to the boardroom, baby!”
