John Legend Is Finally Taking Swimming Lessons as an Adult and It Somehow Makes Him Even Cuter
John Legend is an EGOT winner (including ten Grammys), father to two beautiful children, has an enviable marriage with the Queen of Twitter, sings with the voice of an angel and has apparently discovered the secret to halting the aging process. But as it turns out, there is at least one thing he can't do (you know, other than play Pictionary): swim.
I can't really swim. Today I took my first swim lesson since I was like 5. My dad learned in his 60's so I feel like I'm ahead of schedule.? John Legend (@johnlegend) January 28, 2019
Legend tweeted on Monday about taking his first swimming lesson since the age of 5 and in the process charmed the internet all over again with his wonderful honesty. His kids, Luna and Miles, apparently started lessons a few months ago, so perhaps he thought it was about time he join in the fun.
Naturally, people were all too happy to send words of encouragement or thank him for reminding us all that it's never too late to learn something new. And at the age of 40, he's already 20 years ahead of his dad who learned to swim in his 60s.
Some fans chimed in with the skills they learned later in life (riding a bike at 32, swimming at 70, boxing at 50) and praised him for developing a skill that could potentially save his life or his children's lives.
Unfortunately, Chrissy Teigen has yet to weigh in here, but we're sure it's only a matter of time.
