Congratulations on your engagement, Joey King!
Yesterday, the Kissing Booth star announced on Instagram that she’s engaged to her longtime boyfriend Steven Piet. The 22-year-old actress shared a collage of photos that showed loving moments between the two.
“I never knew happiness could be so powerful that it can take the air from your lungs, overwhelming every part of you that you can’t help but feel your eyes well from the undeniable joy,” she wrote in the caption. “I never knew that a person's presence and heart could feel like a real home. I never knew love could be so unquestionably beautiful. I never knew until you.”
King revealed that Piet proposed on 2/2/22, which means she kept the engagement a secret for one month before announcing the news on social media. She ended the post by saying, “I love you more than an Instagram caption could ever do justice. Hanging out with you forever sounds like a real dream, so let’s do it.”
In one photo, the Ramona and Beezus alum gave a close-up shot of the sparkly engagement ring. Jewelry designer Mark Broumand (who didn’t design the ring) weighed in with PureWow and spilled all the deets on King's new accessory.
“Joey’s ring appears to feature a super elongated oval cut diamond, sometimes referred to as a 'moval' as it combines the long ratio of a marquise cut diamond and the rounded edges of an oval,” the designer said. “It looks to be approximately 3 carats facing horizontally. It is set in a split shank design with a larger epaulette cut diamond and numerous baguette cut diamonds that lead down to two dark color stones.”
Broumand estimated that her engagement ring costs approximately $120,000.
King and Piet began dating in September 2019 after meeting on the set of the Hulu miniseries The Act. The young actress previously dated her Kissing Booth co-star Jacob Elordi for a year, but they broke up in 2018.
