Joaquin Phoenix & Rooney Mara Are Reportedly Expecting Their First Child Together

Remember a few months back when we did a big investigation into Joaquin Phoenix’s love life? Well, now there’s even more to reveal about his relationship with fiancé Rooney Mara: They’re reportedly expecting a baby.

Yup, an unnamed source broke the news this morning in a Page Six exclusive which revealed the pregnancy and stated that Mara “may be as far as six months along.” Per the outlet, the couple (who has been lying low at their Los Angeles home during the current pandemic) has only been seen outside a few times recently. During these appearances, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star sported “baggy clothes,” however, since we haven’t worn anything besides baggy clothes in over two months, we’re not putting too much stock in that particular piece of "evidence".

It’s also important to note that neither Mara's nor the Joker star's reps have confirmed the news.

The pair has been together since filming Mary Magdalene in 2017 and made their official red carpet debut as a couple at the Cannes Film Festival’s closing ceremony in May of the same year.

This past May, the duo sparked rumors of a possible engagement, with Mara sporting a ring on that finger. Us Weekly initially reported that the duo will never wed, as they view marriage as “too mainstream.” But in July of 2019, the publication confirmed that 35-year-old actress and The Village star are indeed engaged to be married.
