Jessica Chastain Has the Most Compassionate Response to a Woman’s Criticism of Her Views

If you’re a celeb, teeing up against internet trolls on social media is an everyday occurrence. Even Jessica Chastain isn’t immune, but she handled a recent clash with an Instagram follower with the utmost grace.

When the Molly’s Game star shared an Instagram photo of herself wearing a shirt that reads “We Should All Be Feminists” in celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, one user, Karin Schulz, spoke out against Chastain’s message and commented, “Yes feminists that believe in God and stand up for the Unborn. I would be for that kind of feminist.”

Instead of fighting fire with fire, Chastain calmly responded, “Yes you can decide what is right for you. I am pro-choice and I believe that everyone has the right to make their own decision.”

Chastain was curious after the exchange and followed a link in Schulz’s bio to a GoFundMe page raising money for her infertility treatments. So, what did the award-winning actress do? She promptly donated $2,000 to Schulz’s fund with a heartfelt message.

“My eyes filled with tears as I read this, dear Karin,” Chastain wrote to Schulz on Instagram. “I have such belief in your dream. Don’t give up my sister. It’s in your destiny.”

Schulz responded with gratitude and retorted, “We do agree on more than we disagree.”

Talk about warm, fuzzy feelings.
