Lady Gaga Is Up to No Good in First Trailer for ‘House of Gucci’

It’s been months since we got our first glimpse of Lady Gaga in her latest project House of Gucci. And now, we’re finally getting some footage.

MGM kicked off our weekend by dropping the first full-length trailer for the film. Directed by Ridley Scott, the upcoming film centers around the infamous Gucci murder. The movie is based on Sara Gay Forden’s 2000 book, The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour and Greed.

“It was a name that sounded so sweet, so seductive. Synonymous with wealth, style, power," Gaga says in a voiceover in the clip. “But that name was a curse, too.” Watch the trailer below.

MGM’s official synopsis reads, “House of Gucci is inspired by the shocking true story of the family empire behind the Italian fashion house of Gucci. Spanning three decades of love, betrayal, decadence, revenge, and ultimately murder, we see what a name means, what it’s worth, and how far a family will go for control.”

Gaga plays Patrizia Reggiani, who is nicknamed the “Black Widow.” Reggiani is the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, the grandson of founder Guccio Gucci. She was tried and convicted of hiring a hitman to murder Maurizio in front of his office in 1995. (Not to be confused with The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.) She later served 18 years in prison before being released in 2016.

In addition to Gaga, the flick also stars Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Jeremy Irons and Al Pacino. House of Gucci hits theaters on November 24 and we’ve already marked our calendars.
