Hilary Duff Shares ‘Extremely Personal’ Video Taken Seconds After She Gave Birth to Baby Banks

Be still our heart: Hilary Duff just shared the sweetest video after giving birth to daughter Banks Violet Bair back in October…and the newborn reaches out to hug her. Our inner Lizzie McGuire voice is screaming.

The Younger actress, who welcomed her second child with singer-songwriter Matthew Koma (she also has a son, Luca Cruz Comrie, from ex-husband Mike Comrie) five months ago, posted the black and white video with a heartfelt caption.

“I’ve been wondering for a long time if I would ever share this video as it is extremely personal....” Duff wrote, and detailed the moment when little Banks reaches out to her face in the video.

“It was so absolutely lovely and rewarding (and shocking) that after giving birth to my baby girl we hugged …for the first time, In my mind I like to believe that she was saying good job mom. Go team go. We did it. Together,” the 31-year-old wrote.

She also thanked her biggest supporters through the pregnancy and delivery, including Koma. The two have been together since 2015.

“Matt provided such a safe calm strength, my mommy and sissy were there to cheer me on, and of course my birth angels to make sure all was well and big brother (downstairs deep in legos),” she continued. We just hope to God Luca made sure not to leave any stray Lego pieces laying around for someone to step on…

The mom of two then shared a few deets about her growing baby girl.

“I cannot believe this day was only 5 months ago!! It seems like B has been here with us all along. The time is already going so fast..she tried avocado yesterday! Anyway... feeling blessed for this full hectic life and all the people in it. Happy 5 months Banks (oh and thanks for quitting colic) that was a doozy.”

YGG, little Banks. (And we’ll just be replaying that little hug in our minds whenever we need a good pick-me-up.)
