As one of the most sought-after models in the industry, it’s safe to say Gigi Hadid is a pro. So, when a wardrobe malfunction left her shoe-less right before hitting the runway, you better believe the 24-year-old handled the situation with finesse.
It all started when Hadid was getting ready to walk the Marc Jacobs spring 2020 runway at New York Fashion Week. Wearing a silver knit dress with matching thigh-high stockings and white heeled mules, the supermodel was ready to strut her stuff—until her heel broke right before she was set to go out.
Katie Grand, Marc Jacobs creative director, explained on Instagram, “In the first opening ‘finale’ of Marc’s show Gigi’s heel broke…There wasn’t much we could do other than either fake a non broken heel or rip off her socks and shoes and send her out barefoot, which we did, and was all the more natural for it.”
Hadid shared a slideshow with videos and photos on her own Instagram that pointed out just how ready to roll with the punches she was.
