Drew Barrymore Had a Major Cringe Moment with a Fan Who Thought She Was Pregnant

In Santa Clarita Diet, Drew Barrymore’s character, Sheila, sticks to a high-protein, low-fat (human flesh) diet. But when the cameras stop rolling, Barrymore happily returns to a diet rich in deliciousness (and we totally approve of that decision).

But Barrymore stopped by The Late Late Show to dish on the highs and lows of her diet with host James Corden and shared one particularly horrifying experience that we can really relate to.

The Santa Clarita Diet star recounted a recent run-in she had with a very presumptuous stranger while out to dinner with her mom friends and children. “She’s like, ‘God, you have so many kids,’ and I go, ‘Well, not all of them are mine, I just have two.’ And she’s like, ‘Well, and you’re expecting, obviously.’ And I literally looked at her and I go, ‘No, I’m just fat right now,’ and I walked out of the restaurant and I was like, ‘Oh man, that’s rough.’” *Cringe*

Barrymore shared her feelings about her filming diet, saying, “Let’s face it: I hate it. I would much rather eat fettuccine Alfredo all day long.”

She explained, “When I’m doing the show I’m a vegan and I barely eat anything, and I work out almost every day, and it’s so healthy and it gets euphoric, and then it’s like food poisoning, you think you’ll never want to eat again, and then before you know it you’re just pigging out with the feed bag strapped to your face. And I’m a foodie, and I love food and I travel the world for food, so I get heavy again.” We feel you so much, Drew.
